Brett Cameron Perry

With over 23 TV series, from "That 70's Show" to "Sid the Science Kid" - 3 Studio Feature Length Films and numerous independent projects, I have been blessed beyond measure to have had a great run as a composer in Hollywood. I've penned two #1 songs in the record industry and am honored to have worked on some amazing record projects.

Mission

Listen, I get it. Bringing a composer on board is an emotional decision. You're about to add something wonderfully mysterious - music - that will certainly impact your story. You need someone you can trust, to fully implement your vision and convey it every step of the way.

Also, I understand the scoring process is just that - a process - and a collaborative one at that. I enjoy collaboration. In fact, I prefer it, because that's what enables a score to become the best it can be.

But mostly, putting music to your film should be a blast. Let's face it, we're all fortunate to be doing what we do and it'd be a shamed to lose sight of that. I'm grateful for every opportunity I get to partner in the process of film making. It's an incredibly fun ride and I do everything I can to keep it that way.

Vision

It's about the story... It's always been about the story. Find the humanity in the scene and tap into the emotion that gets us all on the same page. Should the notes go up or down? Are the harmonies dense or open? Should I swell, stagnate, or decrescendo? How can I be harmonious with the character's voice? Do I paint with the cinematographer or push against? I ask the questions - the story always reveals the answers.
